His visit adds to the growing list of African American icons who have returned to Ghana in recent years as part of a powerful cultural reawakening sparked Ghana’s 'Year of Return' initiative. For many African Americans, Ghana has become more than a destination—it’s a healing journey, a homecoming. With its welcoming people, rich history, and powerful symbols of resilience like the Cape Coast Slave Dungeons and Independence Arch, the country offers a profound opportunity to rediscover identity, pride, and purpose.
